Mr. Husband’s law practice focuses on Equine, Tax controversies and Entertainment Law. In Equine law, Mr. Husband serves clients on a worldwide basis. He is a lifelong horseman, as a horse show exhibitor, a Large “R” Judge for 20 years in the Arabian division, and a breeder. As an attorney, he represents horse businesses before the IRS Examination Division, IRS Administrative Appeals and the U.S.Tax Court. Mr. Husband tried and won the landmark Tax Court Case of Metz v. Commissioner T.C. Memo 2015-54. Mr. Husband also tried and won a jury verdict San Diego County Superior Court in favor of a well-known client who was sold a lame horse whose lameness was masked by steroid injections. He successfully represented clients in San Bernadino Superior who had provided board and care for an out of state woman who tried to cheat them out of her board bill. The case included judicial foreclosure of a a statutory livestock service lien. In Entertainment law, Mr. Husband draws upon his early career experience as an entertainment litigator at Beverly Hills firm of Cooper, Epstein & Hurewitz. He was a licensed Talent Agent in California as a co-founder of AniManagement LLC, a talent agency devoted to representation of artists and writers in the field of animation. Mr. Husband’s involvement in animation includes 6 years as a Director of the Hollywood Chapter of Association International du Film d’Animation, the international animated film society, better known in the U.S. as ASIFA-Hollywood. Mr. Husband also serves as pro bono legal counsel for the non-profit corporation: “Animation Show of Shows Inc,” which produces annual compilations, comprised of animated short films from all over the world curated and produced by Ron Diamond who also founded Acme Filmworks and co-founded Animation World Network. These compilations provide opportunities for animated filmmakers to have their work seen by a wider audience.
